How to ride your SUPER73 safely
Always wear a helmet and other safety equipment when riding. Everyone makes mistakes. Riding is fun, but you must take care.
Make sure you are familiar with your ebike's brakes, and keep a safe distance from others.
Always check and obey the local road rules and other laws in your area for where you can ride.
Do not ride if you are fatigued, unwell or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Do not ride in bad weather. Wet or slippery surfaces can cause you to lose traction, which may injure you or others. Always check the conditions, including wind and rain, before you head out.
Keeping your ebike in good working order is your responsibility. Regularly check and tighten all bolts and nuts, and check your brakes and tyres. Our products need care and attention, so please keep your ebike serviced and make sure all parts are working as intended before each ride.
Ride in a controlled environment where possible to reduce the risk of harm. When you ride off-road or in a remote area, make sure someone knows where you are and that you can contact emergency services if you need to.
Only ride to your ability and stay within your limits.
Read the owner's manual from the manufacturer, and look out for its safety and care tips.
Riding around pedestrians
Where you are riding legally, please follow our guidance:
Always give pedestrians right of way, no matter where you are. If you are unsure, stop and let them pass safely.
In busy areas, slow down to walking pace or less. This sets a good example by showing pedestrians how safely ebikes can be ridden. If the area is too busy, get off and walk your ebike.
Watch for pedestrians stepping out of pathways and shops without looking. They won't expect you to be in their way unless they can see you.
Try to find roads and paths that are free of pedestrians. There are plenty of quiet back roads and laneways.
Use your bell to alert pedestrians before you pass them. Ebikes are quiet, so make sure people hear you coming.
Animals and children can behave unexpectedly, so give them extra space when passing. Dogs may chase bikes, so be prepared to stop and wait for the owner's help.
Risk warnings
Avoid water. Your ebike is not waterproof. The electronics and other components can be damaged if water gets in, and water damage is not covered by warranty. Riding in wet conditions is also dangerous and may cause injury to you or others.
Avoid rough handling. Do not jump the ebike, ride off gutters or kerbs, or crash it into hard objects. It is made to handle spirited riding, but it is still an electrical product and needs to be treated with care and respect. Our warranty does not cover damage caused by rough handling or misuse.
Whenever you ride an ebike, you risk serious injury or even death from loss of control, collisions and falls. This page and the other information supplied with your ebike explain how to ride as safely as possible. If you don't ride with care, skill and attention, you could be seriously injured or killed. You must read ALL instructions, safety messages and warnings in the product manuals.
Riding on hills can be dangerous. What goes up must come down! Before you ride down steep hills, make sure you can confidently control your speed and braking on descents.
Charging: always charge our products or any lithium batteries under adult supervision. Never charge batteries overnight while everyone in the house is asleep. An electrical fault could cause unexpected smoke or fire.
Product components can fail without warning. Be prepared for the rare case where something fails during a ride, and only ride at speeds you are prepared to fall off at.
Have fun everyone! Peace.
